About
It’s never easy breaking the mold. Truth is, nothing worthwhile happens, unless you put your heart and soul into it.
Firepit is a living, breathing creative community on the Greenwich Peninsula.
We're a gallery, a studio, a bar, and a gathering place — but more than any of those things, we're a space where people connect. Artists work here. Conversations start here. Ideas that might not have found a home elsewhere find one at Firepit.
Who we are
Firepit Art Gallery & Studios is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, founded in 2023 and based at 10 Cutter Lane, Upper Riverside. Everything we do is reinvested back into the space, the programme, and the community around it.
We're home to twelve resident artists working across painting, sculpture, photography, textile, and beyond — speaking fifteen languages between them, and bringing a genuinely international creative energy to one of London's most exciting emerging neighbourhoods. Our open-plan studios sit alongside a public gallery, a licensed bar, and a gift shop stocked with work made right here on site.
What we do
Our programme runs year-round and is as varied as the people who walk through our doors. From monthly spoken word nights around a real firepit, to life drawing, workshops, music, mindfulness, food pop-ups and community gatherings — there's always something happening, and everyone is welcome.
We also host exhibitions by artists at every stage of their career, and open our space to external hirers who share our values.
Why it matters
Cultural spaces like Firepit don't appear by accident. They take sustained effort, community belief, and a willingness to do things differently. As a CIC, our surplus goes back into the work — not into profit. Our mission is simple: to build a creative ecosystem on the Greenwich Peninsula that is open, sustainable, and genuinely for everyone.
Come and find us
We're open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am–5pm (Thursday until 7pm). Just turn up — the door is open, the coffee is on, and you're welcome.
