A landscape seen through gauze — the familiar horizon structure of Zoë's work is present but softened, the surface of Veiled having a hazy, atmospheric quality as if viewed through mist or through the veil of memory itself. Warm taupes and pinkish greys at the top descend through a complex mid-zone of scratched and layered marks toward a darker, richer lower register where hints of green, rust and burgundy emerge. The most tactile of the smaller works, the surface crinkled and dimensional.
